Sex Offender Treatment
The Wyoming Department of Corrections recognizes that untreated sex offending behavior can present a substantial threat to public safety and makes the following provisions for sex offender evaluation, treatment, and supervision. The Department supports the provision of a program continuum design in which a cognitive-behavioral relapse prevention framework is used to manage sexual offending and related behaviors. The proper identification and risk assessment of sex offenders and subsequent evaluation for treatment is a critical first step in the program continuum. Based on the professional sex offender evaluation, case managers and agents will facilitate participation in the recommended level, intensity, and duration of sex offender treatment.
